This case was latter affirmed by the court when appealed in 2014.

Mr. Ramirez represented a client who purchased a grocery store, but was not provided with material information that impacted the business’ value at the time of sale. The jury verdict resulted in an award of over $700,000 for the client.

Settlement: Disability Discrimination

When the senior vice president of a national bank was fired due to his disability, Mr. Ramirez advocated for his rights under state and federal law. The client recovered compensation for their unlawful termination through a settlement agreement.

Verdict: Defamation

The court sided with Mr. Ramirez and his client, a former union president who had been slandered and defamed by the new president of the union and the union itself. This bench trial resulted in compensation for Mr. Ramirez’ client, both for punitive damages and emotional distress.
